You would agree if I said its easier to make a friend than to let go but then don't we all lose friends every once in a while ? We lose some to time , some to distance , some to differences ..whatever be the reason, the result is the same .. 'coz we may all choose to take different paths but no matter where we go , we always tend to take a little of each other with us, tucked in our heart , everywhere and perhaps in the all the different kinds of friends and friendships we share over the years with people , the best kinds are ones where you can just pick up right where you left off ... the years apart simply don't matter ..what matters is the simple fact that you were destined to be friends ..
and I know this because destiny with a little help from Facebook ;) brought her back in my life ..She was my best friend in school and not only was my best friend , she was the kind of person everyone liked to be friends with ..caring , loving , trustworthy , thoughtful , kind ..We always knew we were going to be friends for the long run , little did we know that life had other plans , a tumultuous phase in her life took us so far away from each other that all our attempts at staying in touch failed miserably ..
until now ..
Nothing describes the sheer happiness I feel, as succinctly as this poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
"I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.
I breathed a song into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, who has sight so keen and strong
That it can follow the flight of song?
Long, long afterward, in an oak
I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of my friend."
Thank you for finding me but more so for always staying my friend !!
