My Boy'sterous Reflections

They say even after all the advances in the world of medicine, there's still no cure for the common birthday... Well i say, common or uncommon who cares as long as its a memorable birthday..and so it was for me..A memorable birthday after all ....

So birthday celebrations begun precisely at 12.00am IST only to come to a standstill at 12.00am PST,

and more people wished me a day before my birthday than on my special day,

that i was in the States wasnt exactly a feat so tall ..

So yeah i wanted to be back home , but it was a memorable birthday after all :)

So one friend called me while she was half asleep..

Another friend cared more ,so he called me while i was still asleep ..

And if that wasnt enough my best friend wished me and fell asleep :D

that i was on the fone was a concern albeit small :O

So yeah my friends are kinda crazy , but it was a memorable birthday after all :)

So my loving sister dint get me nething coz she thinks i have everything :(

And another caring friend bought me something that she refrained from sending :O

that they loved me a lot is the only message aka present i got :P

So yeah they gave me no gifts but it was a memorable birthday after all .:)

So my darling Hubby got me a dozen red roses a day before :)

And if that wasnt sweet , he arranged for two dozen more to sweep me off my feet :D

that he was getting me a pastry instead of a cake , was a real promise and not fake ...

So yeah i got 3 dozen roses and no cake , but it was a memorable birthday after all :))

So we went to our favorite restaurant to eat Chinese food :)

So we drank and ate and enjoyed the ambience which was good ..

that i forgot to carry my camera kinda ruined my mood :(

So yeah no pics to upload but it was a memorable birthday after all :))

So i guess ive turned a year older or wiser ..thats what they say

and thats pretty much the story of my special day ..

that im smiling as i recount the events is exactly hows its meant

So yeah thats how it was and it was a memorable birthday after all !!

Wondering what 7 lacs for 26th Jan means ..? Well it all started with a tweet and then i read this blog and then i went to facebook and i surfed and so on ..those details aint really necessary ..

What is important is that this is a great initiative and i hope it excites you as much as it excited me ..Its called Nanha Munha Rahi hoon and its a fundraiser event hosted by School=Lunch a non profit organisation with a passion to feed children .

Every day they feed 6,60,000 underprivileged children one hot meal at the municipal school that these children study in , one of the sole reasons their parents send them to school ..

This one hot meal is probably the only nutritious meal that these children get in a day , its probably what brings the child to school everyday ..

And all it costs is just Rs 700 for one whole year ..

And thats what the initiative hopes to achieve ..To get a thousand people to contribute Rs 700 in the next 12 days.. Collectively this amount will give another thousand children the opportunity to come to school this year ..

Wudnt you like to be the reason for helping feed a child ?Wudnt you like to make a difference ?

If your answer is in the affirmative then there's no better time to start than now because there is no greater joy than the joy of giving ..

So spread the word, talk to your family and friends , get your colleagues on board and help contribute.. Help feed a child .. i just did :)

I've been away from this blog for a good no. of days- 24 to be exact and all this while ive been meaning to write but then there are busy days and there are busier days ..but i aint complaining ..infact i for once, am glad to have days that are keepin me occupied and busy.. An idle mind is a devils workshop and i wudnt want the devil to over work or exert herself ;) wud ya ?

The truth is there's plenty to write and to share coz a lot has happened over the past 3 weeks but before anything else , an auspicious start to the brand new year would be by sharing these 50 lessons written by Regina Brett.. She is a columnist for The Plain Dealer in Cleveland , Ohio and this particular piece is one of her most requested columns till date ..

Its kinda long so if you can read it now-great..if your spaced out or running short of time or simply lazy :P read it later but do read it ..

I read it and loved it and while i may have resolved not to have any new year resolutions this year , considering the dedication with which i implement them ;) .. i do intend to write as often as i can , share as much as i can, and also read as frequently as i can ..all this naively assuming that my dedication level stays put ;) :D..

So here's to new hopes , aspirations , opportunities ..here's cheers to the start of a brand new year and a brand new you ..
